Minnesota Wild coach Darryl Sydor checked himself into rehab on Sunday, three days after being arrested for drunk driving with a blood-alcohol level of 0.30.
As part of the NHL’s substance abuse program, the Wild assistant will live at a treatment centre in Malibu, Calif., for at least 30 days, according to his attorney, who spoke to the Minneapolis Star Tribune on Monday.
Sydor was arrested on Thursday in Fridley, Minn., after a test revealed his blood-alcohol content was nearly four times the legal limit. He was en route to a local arena where his 12-year-old son, also in the car, had a hockey game.
