What do Mitch Marner, Jeremy Bracco, Kasperi Kapanen, William Nylander, Connor Brown and Brandon Leipzig have in common, other than being six of the Maple Leafs best offensive prospects?
All of them are under 6-feet tall and not one of them weighs as much as 180 lbs.
Marner is listed at 5-foot-11. He isn’t. Bracco is listed at 5-foot-10. He isn’t. Kapanen, picked up in the Phil Kessel trade, is listed at 5-foot-10. He’s not that tall.
It’s wonderful that the Leafs are beginning their retooling with high-end speedy skill players. Two of the greatest Leafs centres, Dave Keon and Doug Gilmour, were rather pint sized by hockey standards.
