If Hockey Canada has been historically guilty of anything over the years, it has been slightly myopic in applying success from one event to the next.
That very notion failed Canada at the 2006 Olympics in Turin, when the team was based on its World Cup roster of two years before that.
The same thought process applies to the fact Subban wasn’t among the 16 players nominated for Team Canada at the upcoming World Cup. He’s a better player than he was two years ago.
