The San Jose Sharks named Steve Spott as the second assistant coach on Peter DeBoer's staff.
Spott, 47, most recently spent the 2014-15 season as an assistant coach for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
"I'm excited to work with Steve again," DeBoer said in a statement. "We have a great relationship and he has grown significantly as a coach in the seven years since we last worked together. We are very fortunate he was available."
Spott spent two seasons with the Toronto organization, serving as the head coach of the Maple Leafs' American Hockey League affiliate, the Toronto Marlies, in 2013-14.
