HALIFAX - Devin Setoguchi came from Alberta to Atlantic Canada for a chance to revive his NHL career with the Maple Leafs.
But the journey here was much more difficult than shaking jet lag, getting used to new teammates and toiling for a spot on right wing. Setoguchi first had to win a battle with the bottle, completing a rehab stint in the spring and summer, then getting back in shape for a shot with the Leafs on a professional tryout contract.
“I want to be able to come back and play the game I loved to play as a kid,” Setoguchi told reporters Saturday, the second of the Leafs’ three-day boot camp.
