Senior Leafs newcomers stick together

NIAGARA FALLS — Ron Hainsey, Dominic Moore and Patrick Marleau were brought in for a common purpose — lend a mostly young, playoff-starved Leafs team their combined experience and facilitate some chemistry lessons.

So, it shouldn’t be a surprise the new trio of 30-somethings are “gravitating” to each other as Moore says.

“Yeah, we’re all of similar age and new to the group,” Moore said. “But as we go along, we’ll get to know everyone and they’ll get to know us. That’s the enjoyable part of training camp.”

Hainsey said the three should be able to circulate better now that the first cuts have been made and they’re part of one roster instead of split into three different scrimmage teams as they were in Niagara Falls.
