Dave Cameron has been shown the door by the Senators.
And his replacement will be tasked with the job of trying to get this club to play better defensively.
In his first act since taking the reins from Bryan Murray Sunday, general manager Pierre Dorion gave Cameron his walking papers.
Assistants Rick Wamsley and Andre Tourigny were also fired. Assistant Jason Smith will be re-assigned to another job in the organization.
Cameron, Wamsley, Tourigny and Smith were given the news Tuesday morning at the Canadian Tire Centre. Don't be surprised if Smith moves into some kind of player development role down the road.
