Seattle's chance of landing an NHL expansion franchise may possibly rest with only one bid.
Victor Coleman, a Los Angeles businessman looking to buy into the NHL and place a team in an arena that would be built by entrepreneur Chris Hansen, won’t file a $10 million application for an expansion franchise by Monday's deadline, according to the Seattle Times.
A possible second bid, for a team to be placed in nearby Bellevue, Wash., was abandoned last week after the anticipated financing for an arena did not materialize, the Times also reports.
That would leave Ray Bartoszek and suburban Tukwila, Wash.
