Sam Bennett scores twice, Hunter Shinkaruk celebrates first NHL point as Flames scorch Coyotes

GLENDALE, Ariz. — A streaky scorer so far in his NHL career, Sam Bennett is suddenly scorching again.

The Calgary Flames' rookie centre found the back of the net twice in Monday's 5-2 victory over the Arizona Coyotes at Gila River Arena, ending an 18-game dryspell but not waiting too long to add another.

First-line centre Sean Monahan notched the game-winning goal and had two helpers for the Flames, while smooth-skating blue-liner TJ Brodie also scored and forward Joe Colborne fired into an empty net. Rugged winger Micheal Ferland — skating on Bennett's left side — picked up a couple of assists.
