Rob Cote returns to Stampeders for another season

Rob Cote’s tenure as the longest-serving player on the Calgary Stampeders roster will continue.

On Saturday, the Stampeders announced they re-signed the fullback out of Cochrane, Alta.

Cote, 30, has played 164 regular-season games, 11 playoff games and in three Grey Cups for the Stampeders since joining the club in 2007.

“Rob is one of the true leaders of our team,” Stampeders head coach Dave Dickenson said in a statement. “He had another strong season in 2016 and we're counting on him to continue being an important contributor to our success.”

Cote has 106 career catches for 1,108 yards and 12 touchdowns along with 98 rushing yards.
