As the beginning of main camp creeps closer, more details on veteran bodies attending camp are slowly becoming available. Today, Swedish publication Hockeysverige has reported that veteran blueliner Viktor Svedberg will be attending Calgary Flames camp on a professional tryout agreement.
Originally from Gothenburg, Sweden, Svedberg is arguably best known for his time with the Chicago Blackhawks. The 27-year-old was signed as a European free agent by the Hawks back in 2013 after impressing during a tryout stint with the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs. Since coming over to North America, the towering blueliner has emerged as a very good AHL hand but failed to make much noise at the NHL level.
