Report: Kris Versteeg could be back by mid-March

The Calgary Flames may be getting some good news on the injury front. According to a report from TSN’s Darren Dreger on Tuesday’s edition of Insider Trading, Flames winger Kris Versteeg is expected to be skating in “10-to-14 days” and that could pave the way for a return in “early-to-mid March.”

Versteeg, 31, has been out since late November with a lingering hip issue. He underwent surgery in early December to resolve a labrum issue, but has been doing his rehab in Calgary. Estimates for recovery from labrum surgery are generally in the four-to-six months range, and a mid-March return would be roughly four months after surgery.
