The Calgary Flames have reportedly added some additional forward depth, signing both Alan Quine and Tyler Graovac – two left-shot centres – to one-year, two-way deals.
Quine, 25, is a prototypical tweener. He was limited to just 25 games between the NHL and AHL last season due to a series of nagging injuries, but before that he had carved himself out a niche as a pretty productive AHLer who really didn’t make a lot of noise at the NHL level (albeit in a secondary role). He wasn’t qualified by the Islanders on Monday and became an unrestricted free agent.
