The Calgary Hitmen and Red Deer Rebels appeared as though they would battle tooth and nail down the stretch in an attempt to lock up home-ice advantage in the first round of the WHL playoffs.
But Rebels sniper Jake DeBrusk potted a game-winner and a go-ahead goal as the Memorial Cup hosts swept a key home-and-home set with the Hitmen over the weekend, all but locking up at least second place in the Central Division.
