RED DEER — The Regina Pats were not supposed to be here.
Not after getting into the Western Hockey League playoffs as a Wild Card team.
Not after drawing the No. 2-ranked Lethbridge Hurricanes in the opening round.
And definitely not having to face the Memorial Cup host, Red Deer Rebels, in the second round.
But on Tuesday in front of 6,264 at the Enmax Centrium, the Pats were still in the fight and pushed the Rebels to brink in Game 7, conceding an unlucky winning goal in the the third period en route to a 2-1 loss.
