TAMPA - Brad Richards first forged his legacy during his time as a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
General manager Steve Yzerman’s goal is to see that Steven Stamkos does the same.
While Richards returns to face the team with which he won the Stanley Cup in 2004, Yzerman was asked if his off-season priority remains getting Stamkos signed to a long-term extension. Stamkos has one more full season remaining on his contract.
“Yeah,” Yzerman confirmed on Tuesday to Postmedia. “But this isn’t the time to talk about it. Right now we’re about to start the final.
