It appears as though it didn’t take long for Peter Chiarelli to land back on his feet — with the Edmonton Oilers, of all teams.
Chiarelli, who was fired as general manager of the Boston Bruins after the Eastern Conference team failed to reach the post-season, will reportedly will hired by the Oilers, with an announcement coming as early as Friday morning.
It is believed Chiarelli, who was named the Bruins GM in 2006 and won a Stanley Cup with the team in 2011, will be named the Oilers’ president of hockey operations.
Despite less-favourable odds than other teams, the Oilers recently were granted the right to select first overall in the upcoming NHL draft.
