Pittsburgh coach Mike Sullivan says star forward Sidney Crosby has been diagnosed with a concussion and will miss Game 4 of the Penguins’ Eastern Conference semifinal series with Washington on Wednesday.
Crosby left Monday’s game after being cross-checked in the face by Capitals defenceman Matt Niskanen.
“Sid has been diagnosed with a concussion. He will be out for tomorrow’s game,” Sullivan said. “We will evaluate him from there.”
Crosby has a history of problems with concussions, but Sullivan says the Penguins captain is “very upbeat and positive.”
“We’re very optimistic and hopeful we’ll have him back in a timely fashion,” he added.
