SAN JOSE — The superlatives keep rolling in for Sidney Crosby.
A day after Sharks forward Logan Couture branded the Penguins captain as a cheater, head coach Mike Sullivan told reporters on a conference call that this was “as good as I’ve seen (Crosby) play.”
That’s lofty praise. After all, this is a player who scored the game-winning goal at the 2010 Olympics, who became the youngest captain to win a Stanley Cup and who has claimed two MVP trophies and is up for another Hart Trophy after scoring 36 goals and 85 points this season.
But there is no middle ground with Crosby.
