It starts with the compound of president-elect Donald Trump, one the New York Times once compared to the Palace of Versailles. Musician Jimmy Buffett, former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani, shock jock Howard Stern and actress Rosie O’Donnell also have sprawling residences in the area.
Seems about as far away from Pyeongchang, South Korea, as you could possibly get.
Yet, when the NHL’s Board of Governors congregate Thursday and Friday at the swank Breakers hotel for their annual December meetings, Pyeongchang will be front and centre among the topics as the league’s executive committee addresses the dilemma of whether NHLers will participate in the 2018 Olympics.
