The NHL will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the league in style at its birthplace in Ottawa.
NHL commissioner Gary Bettman confirmed during a splashy press conference Friday at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier that the Ottawa Senators will play an outdoor game against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday, Dec. 16 at TD Place.
Bettman said outdoor games have been hugely successful across the league.
“We expect more of the same in at Lansdowne Park,” said Bettman.
Senators owner Eugene Melnyk and Habs’ owner Geoff Molson were all smiles for the game which will celebrate the first NHL game in history, played in Ottawa on Dec.
