The Senators have named Guy Boucher head coach.
Less than 24 hours after Bruce Boudreau headed to the Minnesota Wild, the Senators confirmed Boucher will be their next coach.
Boucher, 44, is the 12th head coach in franchise history. He takes over from Dave Cameron, who was let go at the end of the season.
Boucher has been out of the league for two years after being fired by the Tampa Bay Lightning.
He comes to the Senators after an extensive search.
He hasn't been in the league in two years but the belief in NHL circles is he's coming back refreshed, ready and humbled to get the job done.
