Way, way back in 1983, the city of Calgary was abuzz. The Calgary Flames were on their way to becoming a powerhouse! The new Calgary Coliseum was almost complete! The Olympics were a few years away!
But on this day in 1983 the Flames played their final game in the Stampede Corral, beating the Edmonton Oilers by a 6-5 score in Game 4 of their first round series.
(The Flames lost Games 1, 2 and 3, but won at home to stave off elimination. They lost in Game 5 two nights later in Edmonton to finally have their playoff run ended.
