The Edmonton Oilers have recalled Zack Kassian from the AHL.
The 24-year-old with the checkered past was picked up in a trade announced Dec. 28 in a deal that sent goaltender Ben Scrivens to the Montreal Canadiens.
He got a second chance after completing three months in the NHL's substance abuse program for alcohol abuse and said at the time he understood that if he messed the new gig up, there might not be another chance.
"Three months ago if you would have told me I had another shot at the NHL I wouldn't have been so sure, a lot of things were uncertain," said Kassian.
