WINNIPEG - Hockey fans in Winnipeg will have to wait until the regular season to see Connor McDavid in person, but fans in Saskatoon need only wait till Saturday.
In revealing his lineup for this weekend’s prairie road trip, head coach Todd McLellan announced he’ll be scratching McDavid tonight for the second straight game - both against Winnipeg - and playing him in Saturday’s neutral site game against the Minnesota Wild.
McLellan says tonight will likely be the last time McDavid sits.
“I’d like to see him play the rest of the games,” he said. “That can change, don’t hold me to that, but we can play him Saturday in Saskatoon, then against Arizona, then back-to-back against Vancouver and he should be ready to go.
