It was the best of trips, it was the worst of trips.
Mostly the worst.
But you know the Edmonton Oilers were dealing with some pretty wild mood swings on their four-game road swing when a reasonably well-played 2-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils had them feeling like Andy Dufrense when he crawled out of that sewer pipe in The Shawshank Redemption.
That’s how bad the worst of it was.
The Oilers were all over the map on this one, showing once again that they are still not equipped to deal with either success or adversity.
