The great Norris Trophy debate, which has seemingly been going on all season, is about to heat up.
The ballots for the NHL’s major awards will be sent out to the voters from the Professional Hockey Writers’ Association sometime during this final week of the regular season with a deadline just before the puck is dropped on Round 1 of the playoffs on April 13 at 7 p.m.
The good people at Ernst and Young, who record the ballots, will have their work cut out for them when it comes to adding up who will take the title as the NHL’s top defenceman, because listening to the fans of Senators captain Erik Karlsson and Los Angeles blueliner Drew Doughty, it’s split right down the middle.
