From irritating rodent to favoured friend.
Dylan Strome’s impression of Canadian world junior teammate Mitch Marner certainly has gone through a transformation over the years.
Back when these two gifted forwards were growing up, Strome admits he considered Marner, then a member of Vaughan Kings, to be “a little rat,” a pest “I didn’t like” very much.
Such was the case during those days in the Greater Toronto Hockey League when Strome’s Marlboros clashed with Marner’s Kings. Marner’s mandate was to “annoy” the opposition out on the ice and he certainly did that, getting Strome off his game while chipping in with some points of his own.
