Last year’s Selke Trophy finalists are back again this season.
Boston Bruins centre Patrice Bergeron, Anze Kopitar of the Los Angeles Kings and Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews return as the nominees for the award that is given “to the forward who best excels in the defensive aspects of the game.”
Bergeron, a Selke finalist for the fourth straight season, led the league in faceoffs (1,951) and faceoff wins (1,175) and winning percentage (60.2%). He won the Selke twice, last season and in 2012.
Kopitar was the Kings leader among forwards in icetime (19:23) and helped Los Angeles to fourth overall in team defence with 2.
