Never before had Shirley Kennedy publicly shared the pain, heartache, anger and betrayal she endures as the mother of a sexually abused son.
However, as part of the lifelong battle she wages to deal with the guilt and shame involved with unknowingly sending her son off to pursue his NHL dreams with coach/sexual predator Graham James, she felt it was time to add her voice to Sheldon Kennedy's story.
She does so by way of an emotional sit-down with director Joshua Rofe in his powerful new documentary Swift Current, in which she details one of the first visits by James to their Saskatchewan farmhouse when Sheldon was a young teen.
