TORONTO - The Maple Leafs began four straight days of practice and down time - by losing their No. 1 goalie halfway through the first session and without one defencemen the entire workout.
Coach Mike Babcock could shed little light on why James Reimer departed about halfway through Tuesday’s 45-minute practice following a 4-3 shootout loss to Boston the night before. After talking to trainers, an uncomfortable looking Reimer departed.
He has played 11 of the past 12 games and been a key component to Toronto’s improved record of 6-3-3 in November. He seemed fine in the dressing room after Monday’s game.
