The Mastercard Memorial Cup gets underway in Red Deer, Alberta tonight.
Being a huge hockey fan and living in Red Deer, Alberta means I am extremely pumped that the Memorial Cup is being held here. It has been 42 years since the Memorial Cup was hosted in the province of Alberta and yesterday the trophy arrived in Red Deer via the Canadian Military. The trophy was flown in by two CH146 Griffon helicopters and then paraded by armoured military vehicles to a ceremony held downtown.
