When we last checked in with the Flames’ ECHL affiliate in Kansas City, the Mavericks had a tough start to their new season. That trend has continued into their second week, as the team has failed to register wins in all but two of their first nine contests to start the campaign. It’s not an ideal start, and currently sees KC sitting in 5th place in the Mountain Division, two points ahead of last place Rapid City and five points back of fourth place Tulsa.
