Bad news for one of the Calgary Flames’ top prospects. Stockton Heat forward Matthew Phillips, currently tied for seventh in American Hockey League scoring, is out month to month with a fractured knee cap.
Injury update: Heat forward Matthew Phillips suffered a fracture in his knee cap in Saturday’s game. He will have surgery and is considered month to month.

Phillips, 21, is in the second year of his entry-level contract with the Flames. As a rookie he had a respectable 38 points in 65 games for the Heat.
