Matt Stajan, first Flame to score a series-winning goal since 2004, more than earned it

Stajan has gone through a lot, both in hockey and real life. So for him to ultimately score the series clincher in dramatic fashion... There was nobody more deserving.

Last night, after just nine playoff games in his 11-year career, Matt Stajan scored his first ever playoff goal. It wasn't just any goal, though. It was beyond dramatic: down 3-0 early on, potentially being forced back to Vancouver, and yet on the verge of making it to the second round for the first time in 11 years (and 10 NHL seasons), Stajan buried the puck for the first time since March 11, when he scored two goals against.
