As Leafs Nation fretted over James Reimer’s injury the past couple of days and his no-show at Wednesday’s practice, Mike Babcock was out for a care-free jog.
When the coach returned, his missing goalie had come out to assure everyone he was good to go Saturday, proving Babcock correct for not hitting the panic button.
“I’ve found over the years when a goalie gets hurt in practice just relax, don’t overreact, wait for the next day,” Babcock said. “You get scared and then you scare yourself. (Resting Reimer) was just precautionary.”
The concern, of course, is Reimer’s penchant for calamity just when things are going well for him.
