As mentioned in my previous update post last week, it was pretty clear about half-way through the tournament that the London Knights were pretty much unstoppable. Yesterday afternoon they put the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies away in a thrilling game that went into overtime with the Knights winning 3-2.
The Huskies secured their berth in the final by defeating the host Red Deer Rebels on Friday in the semi-final by a score of 3-1. The game was a great back and forth game with tons of action at both ends of the ice. The Rebels out-shot the Huskies by a count of 37-27, but penalties were their downfall as the Huskies scored twice on the power-play.
