RED DEER – The London Knights filled opposition nets with 425 pucks this season.
It almost wasn’t enough.
They needed that 426th lamp lighter – off the stick of Matthew Tkachuk in overtime – to fulfill their destiny of winning the Memorial Cup.
Knights nation might have been holding its collective breath – especially after falling short at the 2012, ’13 and ’14 events – but winger Max Jones never had a doubt it would come.
“I believe in every single one of these guys,” said Jones, who expected to go in the opening round of this summer’s NHL Draft.
