Mario Lemieux apparently wants to know just how much money he could get by selling his share of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Lemieux and his partner Ron Burkle have hired investment firm Morgan Stanley to gauge the interest in selling some or all of the franchise, according to TSN.
However, it appears Lemieux wants to take some equity out of his NHL investment and hopes to still be involved with the franchise within ownership, according to DKonPittsburghSports.com. Burkle reportedly has no interest in selling.
The website also received a statement from Lemieux about the potential sale of the team.
