The Toronto Maple Leafs placed forward Joffrey Lupul on injured reserve retroactive to Nov. 28 with a lower body injury and recalled forward Rich Clune from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League on Tuesday.
Lupul will be out for a minimum of seven days, missing games against the Winnipeg Jets, Minnesota Wild and St. Louis Blues on a road trip. He has eight goals and three assists this season.
The 28-year-old Clune has no points in two previous games for the Maple Leafs this season. In 15 games with the Marlies, he has two goals, four assists and 59 penalty minutes this season.
