Curtis Glencross beat the odds a decade ago, an undrafted NHLer who went on to play more than 500 games.
At 32, he has another challenge this month, reviving his career on a professional tryout contract with the Maple Leafs.
The team commences training camp next week and Glencross, after his long stretch as a Calgary Flame ended with a March deadline trade to Washington, thinks he has a shot with the rebuilding club.
The 6-foot-1 winger was signed by Anaheim originally and also played with Columbus and Edmonton.
A Saskatchewan native, he had back-to-back 20-plus goal years in Calgary, but injuries were a factor in a drop-off in games played in recent years.
