Kenney Morrison going extra mile in bid to make Calgary Flames

PENTICTON, B.C. — As first impressions go, it’s pretty tough to top the one Kenney Morrison made in his professional game debut.

Last spring, in his first game with the AHL’s Adirondack Flames after leaving college to sign with the Calgary Flames, Morrison instantly caught the attention of everyone in the organization with a three-point outing in a 7-3 victory over the Oklahoma City Barons.

One goal and two assists adds up to some big smiles, although the one flashed by the Flames prospect was somewhat sheepish when asked about that performance.

“That was a good one — I got a good couple bounces that game,” the defenceman Morrison said as he readied to suit up for the first time with the Flaming ‘C’ on his chest Saturday night at the Young Stars Classic tournament in Penticton, B.
