Jordan Sigalet exhaled a sigh of relief when he heard the news earlier this week.
In the wake of the coaching upheaval at the Scotiabank Saddledome — Brad Treliving’s dismissal of head coach Bob Hartley and associate coach Jacques Cloutier — the team’s goaltending coach received word that his job along with assistant coach Martin Gelinas and video coach Jamie Pringle were safe.
All signs are pointing to a contract extension for the 35-year-old who has been with the organization since joining the club’s American Hockey League affiliate in 2011.
But, that being said, job security is never certain in the NHL.
