It’s become clear Johnny Gaudreau is at his best when the lights are bright.
Five game-winning goals this season — nine in his 116-game career to date — will attest to the Calgary Flames star’s crunch-time character.
But we’re talking about practice, man.
Not the game, practice.
That’s when Johnny Gaudreau works on the things that have made him who he is, which, as of Monday, is the NHL’s first star of the week.
All he did was score five goals in two games to earn the honour.
“You just saw practice — he loves to play,” said Flames head coach Bob Hartley on Monday, trying to find an unused superlative for his star winger.
