Hockey is a game of three periods. Thankfully for the Flames they showed up for the final two periods, clipping the Red Wings 5-3 Wednesday night. Detroit roared out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first period on the backs of goals by Darren Helm and Jacob de la Rose, but the Flames buckled down and played really solid hockey in the final 40 minutes.
