BRANDON – Josh Morrissey is no stranger to the big stage and he helped the Kelowna Rockets draw first blood in the Western Hockey League championship final.
Morrissey, chosen 13th overall by the Winnipeg Jets in the 2013 NHL Draft, chipped in a pair of assists as the Rockets earned a 4-3 win over the Brandon Wheat Kings on Friday night at Westman Place.
Morrissey's two assists give him two goals and 13 points in 10 playoff games.
“We're just starting to see the real Josh,” Rockets general manager Bruce Hamilton said Friday afternoon. “He had some injury issues.
