CHICAGO – The Winnipeg Jets are once again near the bottom of the league in terms of power-play production and it’s been an ongoing problem since the team arrived from Atlanta.
Only once in the last five years have the Jets been in the top half of the league in terms of power play percentage and that was in their first season in Winnipeg. That year, 17.9% placed them 11th in the league, although it wasn’t a particularly great number. This year, 17.9% would be 20th in the NHL.
Of course, that would look pretty good since the Jets currently sit at 15.
