RALEIGH, N.C. – The Winnipeg Jets will be without defenceman Mark Stuart for four to six weeks after he suffered a broken right hand Saturday night in Edmonton, but perhaps his show of strength after the injury will inspire his teammates.
Stuart suffered the injury after blocking a shot six minutes into the first period of a 2-1 shootout win over the Oilers, but played the rest of the game.
“He somehow played the game that he played, which was as good a game as he’s had in a number of weeks … I don’t know how he did it,” Jets coach Paul Maurice said.
