DENVER - - Was Friday merely a mirage?
Based on Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Colorado Avalanche, it looked like the Winnipeg Jets left their defensively-sound template back in Minnesota after Friday's 3-1 triumph over the Wild.
After turning in one of the most responsible defensive efforts since the Winnipeg Jets returned to the NHL in 2011, that template was missing in action at times on Saturday at the Pepsi Center.
It wasn't the number of shots on goal surrendered (25), it was the quality of the scoring chances – which included two clear-cut breakaways and another partial break – two of which resulted in goals against.
