Calgary Flames 2019 first round pick Jakob Pelletier has added an accolade to his resume. The winger was named the 2019-20 winner of the QMJHL’s Frank J. Selke Award, which denotes him as the most sportsmanlike player in the Quebec junior circuit.
Pelletier edged out fellow Flames prospect Dmitry Zavgorodniy for the award.
Pelletier, 19, was the 26th player chosen in the 2019 NHL Draft. He’s not a big boy – listed as 5’9″ and 160 pounds – but he’s a talented kid. He was among the top offensive players in the Q in 2019-20 with 82 points, but he also only amassed just 16 minutes in penalties.
